Founder and Clinical Supervisor
I am delighted to be with you on your path of transformation. I've witnessed other's positive changes since 2003, working as a harm reduction case manager. I graduated from UIC Jane Addams School of Social Work in 2007 and expanded my skills and knowledge while work as a therapist at community mental health clinics, providing harm reduction services and substance use outpatient and intensive outpatient services. In 2012, I founded Transformative Therapy, a space for clinicians to grow professionally while having autonomy over their professional and personal time. I utilize several therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and eye movement desensitization reprocessing to help treat depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, body image difficulties, codependency, OCD, substance use disorders, panic disorder, PTSD, relationship conflict/distress, trauma, stress management, grief and loss and LGBTQ+ concerns. I bring energy, positivity and humor to our sessions.
When I'm not working, I'm enjoying time with my family, gardening or being physically active.
I’m honored to help others along their path of self-discovery and change. Having worked in the field for 15 years, I’ve gained a wealth of information and experience working with those with chronic medical concerns, grief and loss, trauma, and addictions (active and in recovery). I’ve learned that a strength of mine is supporting others with anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors and transitions, and relationship concerns. I'll work with you to identify your goals and develop a plan that will support, maintain, and continue positive changes, even after our work is completed.
I utilize a collaborative, strengths-based approach which incorporates a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness.
